Cryogenic LNG Ball Valve

Cryogenic ball valve is a type of valve specially designed for operation in extremely low-temperature environments. It mostly adopt trunnion or floating ball structures. The valve body is equipped with an extended stem to reduce cold transfer and facilitate operation. The design structure is usually top entry structure, equipped with valve stem anti-blow out and anti-static functions. The working principle is that the ball rotates 90° around the axis to open and close. The sealing surface is overlaying with wear-resistant materials, and it is combined with a low-temperature sealing design to prevent leakage. Cryogenic ball valve, through reasonable structural design, improvement and upgrading, strength calculation, material inspection, cryogenic treatment and low-temperature tests, ensure stable performance at -196℃ or even lower temperatures, guaranteeing the safe and reliable operation of the system. The advantages lie in its resistance to deep cold, reliable sealing, impact resistance, and the extension shaft design to prevent the handle from frosting. It is mainly applied to the storage and transportation systems of low-temperature media such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquid oxygen, and liquid nitrogen, such as LNG receiving stations and the control of inlet and outlet pipelines of cryogenic storage tanks.
